Latest information from the Center for Disease Control on motorcycles and safe riding
Out of cars, trucks, planes and trains; motorcycles are the one means of transport more vulnerable to injuries and death. Without a doubt, it is a rush and sometimes even without thinking we riders are placing our lives at great risk. You do not have to become the next statistic. Learning a little more about your bike and easy ways to protect yourself in traffic can ensure your safety. Plus, rest assured, you won't have to sacrifice the great rush.
CPR/First Aid
Medic First Aid (MFA) is a combination CPR and First Aid class now offered to the GWRRA members in the Florida District. The program is focused on teaching the basic skills needed to assist with an emergency situation until EMS arrives. Being able to recognize an emergency, activate EMS, and provide the necessary care until more trained providers arrive and take over, is the role of the first aid provider.
Motorist Awareness
The Motorist Awareness Division and Rider Education Program, through a Team effort, are committed to a goal of establishing the safest motorcycling environment possible. While Rider Education trains and educates motorcycle riders, the Motorist Awareness Division (MAD) will focus on educating the motorist community. Our primary goal in motorist awareness will be to reduce the number of motorcycle crashes with other highway users, a reduction in the loss of life, and a reduction in injuries.
Florida Rider Education has its own dedicated website at www.floridaridered.com. The site is provided to help Chapter Ride Educators and GWRRA members find information related to ride education. This is a central place you can come to find education information, events or materials related to GWRRA Ride Education.
